May The Lego Pens Be With You

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008

So, I started searching for some cool pens that I wanted and I came upon these really cool lego star wars pens. Supposedly if you get the whole set you can interchange the pieces and build your own pen, but the fact that it’s a lego pen with star wars characters is really neat.

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

Here’s a cool promotional pen from the new Dark Knight Movie. Seems they are giving away lots of cool Dark Knight Stuff, but the promo pen is my favorite.

Here are some more Google Pens. Google always has some of the best promotional giveaways! But of course, promotional pens will always be my favorite.

Google Pen Giveaways

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Here’s some really cool Google light up pen giveaways. I have a feeling they were given out at a trade show or something. What’s so neat about them (besides lighting up) is each pen matches the Google logo’s different colors. If you’re a fan of promotional pens like me, these cool pens should definitely be in your collection.

The Pen That Should Be In Every Utility Belt

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

If any of you are into video games at all, the you should know about the E3 conference that’s currently going on. At things like trade shows and conference you are bound to find some really cool pen schwag, but this one takes the proverbial cake.

At first I thought this was just a really cool DC Comics Pen

then I saw this photo of what the pen can actually do:

The Emergence of the “Floaty” Pen

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

I have seen “floaty” pens in tons of tourist attraction, but never have I ever seen them used as a promotional product.

I like this one from Prudential

They wanted to give their customers a “Piece of the Rock,” with an actual rock floating in the pen. What a nifty idea! Perfect for any pen collection.

Of course this “floaty” pen,

from the 1964 World’s Fair is a really vintage pen that any pen collector (especially myself) would love to get his/her hands on.

Promo Pens Never Get Left Behind

Monday, July 21st, 2008

A few months ago I attended a B2B Marketing Breakfast, and I noticed something. People really do like pens, a lot more than they like pieces of paper. In fact, the first picture is exactly what my table looked like before the conference.

Afterwards all the promo pens were gone, but the flyers and booklets were left behind.

Promotional pen…car?

Friday, July 11th, 2008

I love reading about all the artistic endeavors of promotional pen collectors. It’s always interesting to see what can be done with these free giveaways — beyond merely collecting them and keeping them in a desk drawer. Check out what this creative character decided to do with his promotional pen collection:

Pretty wild stuff! This guy took thousands of imprinted pens and stuck them to his car to create a truly memorable work of art. What artistic applications have you found for your promotional pen collection?

Commerce Bank to end its promotional pen giveaways!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

This article is certain to disappoint pen collectors everywhere. One of the most infamous sources of promotional pens — Commerce Bank — seems to be getting rid of its most popular giveaway! Commerce is in the middle of re-branding itself as “TD Commerce,” and with that new name comes new colors and less pens :(

TD Commerce is apparently seeking to donate its existing stock of 23 million promotional pens to the military and charitable organizations (We’ve got our fingers crossed that promopencollector.com is on that list).

I’d urge promo pen collectors everywhere to find the nearest branch and grab some of these pens before they’re gone for good!
