What’s better than a bright pink Sharpie pen? A bright pink Sharpie with your signature on it!

I don’t know about you, but I use Sharpies for everything (doodling, signing papers, labeling files with pretty colored words). So this new customized option is knocking my socks off!

A few weeks ago at New York Fashion Week, Sharpie hit the fashion scene with these personalized pens and markers for designers. Betsey Johnson even took the time out of her busy day to design a shirt using nothing but Sharpies on a white t-shirt.

And anything that’s good enough for Betsey Johnson is good enough for me!

I was cleaning out my purse today and I came across a long lost pen. This was no ordinary pen, it was a promotional pen from Kirlin’s Hallmark with a yellow highlighter on one side and the smoothest writing ballpoint pen on the other. Unlike some highlighter/pens that are really thick and burdensome because of the highlighter, this one was no bigger than a regular pen; I adore it.

It was perfect. Aside from the fact it ran out of ink just now. So I’ve been scouring the internet for a similar replacement and I found one that looks pretty decent at epromos.com. Hopefully it holds up like my old favorite! I guess I’ll have to use the old-fashioned pen and separate highlighter for now.

Recently, the gym I’ve been taking classes at was trying to figure out how to promote their new Basketball courts. They finally settled on promotional basketball pens and I love them!

For the last week I’ve been slowly stealing a pen a day from the reception desk. They have basketballs painted on the sides and the gym’s name around the middle. That way, when people like me take them home we’re still getting the word out. Every time I whip out my basketball pen at the office I get tons of questions about it (or in some cases, giggles) so it certainly gets attention.

It’d be a great gimmick for a kids sports team as well, I know I would’ve gone bonkers over a Volleyball pen in Middle School.

A pen and a lighter? I can never find either one when I need them! It would be great to have a bunch of these lying around…

These novelty pens have great potential as marketing tools, too–they’re much less likely to be carelessly lost or discarded than normal pens, due to the extra-useful lighter function. Their sleek and shiny barrels offer plenty of space for company names and logos, and extra visibility too–they’ll be used twice as often! Also, never underestimate the number of admiring onlookers who, seeing and coveting the pen-lighter, ask, “Where’d you get that?”
