Fisher Space Pen
The Space Pen’s incredible design and ability to write in zero gravity created a tremendous buzz among American and Russian astronauts who had been seeking an alternative to the inconvenient grease pencils and plastic slates they had been using. Created by Paul Fisher of Fisher Spacepen Co. in 1966, the Fisher Space Pen was the first anti-gravity pen. It could write upside down, over grease, underwater, and at extreme temperatures (-20° F to +300° F). It also lasts three times longer than other pens and has an estimated shelf life of 100 years. The sleek and crafty design of the Fisher Space Pen has also earned the pen a place as a permanent exhibit in the New York Museum of Modern Art as an outstanding example of industrial art.
While the anti-gravity features of the Fisher Space Pen may not turn as many heads as it once did, people continue to associate the pen with ingenuity and quality. Companies looking to help employees remember the good ol’ days and provide them with a quality pen to show their appreciation for their efforts at work can’t go wrong with an engraved Fisher Space Pen.
